When it comes to the attitude towards whether people are attracted to work by moeny, many people think that the money a person earns is the most important aspect of a job. As far as I am concerned, however, I think money is not everything. People are attracted to work by a number of foctors, and the money is only one factor. The argument for my view goes as follows.
To begin with, there are many rich people who, instead of taking their time to enjoy the daily life, continue to work hard. For example, why many Hollywood movie stars continue to work as actors even if they have achieved Academy Award. Why Micheal Jordan left his favorate basket ball club, and came back again several years later. Are all of them attracted by money? The money they earned is enough for three generations of their offsprings. Most of them are inspired by their interests, either in acting or in sports.
In addtion, one of most famous psychologists published a widely-accepted theory-Three Layers of Human Needs, including basic needs, security needs, and respect. Such needs are happened in order. When the lower needs are achieved, people will persue the next higher needs. For example, when one has nothing, he will require basic living things, such as food, water and clothing. Once he is satificed with current physiological needs, he will be more concerned with security needs, such as privacy and house. And continuing on, one will pursue the respect from others after all the lower needs is attained. Money can enable people achieve the basic and security needs, however, it cannot help people earn respect.
From what has been discussed above, I can safely draw the conclusion that the money a person earns is only one part of a job. People are stimulated to work by a number of factors, such as their interests or earning other people’s respect.
